How do I send a Message? Once you have created your contact list, sending messages is simple. Click on the User ID of the contact you want to send a message to. In the window that opens type your message in the lower part of the screen. The upper window contains all the messages sent and received. How do I receive a Message? When you receive a message, a blue window with the name of the sender flashes in your task bar. Click on it to read your message. Can I change the font, colour, size etc. of my Messages? Certainly. Type out your message normally in the chat window. You can now format your message using the following buttons. Can I add images to my Messages? Rediff Bol does not offer this feature yet. It will be included in a future version. How do I use the Conference facility? You can invite multiple contacts from your list into a common conference. Double click on an email ID to start a conversation. Now click on the 'Conference' link and you will be able to see a list of all your online contacts. Select the contacts you wish to include in the conference. The User IDs of the members active in the conference will appear on top of the chat window. Can I save a Conversation? Certainly. Click on the 'File' option in the chat window and select 'Save'. You will be prompted to enter the name of the file. The file will be saved in text format under the 'C:/Program Files/Rediff.com/Messenger/' folder. You can use any text editor like Microsoft Word or Notepad to read the saved conversation. What are Emoticons? Emoticons are small graphic images such as smileys that can be used to enhance your messages and get your point across more effectively. They allow you to express a range of emotions, from happiness to anger. How do I use Emoticons? Emoticons can be used by clicking on the 'Smiley' button next to the 'Font' and 'Colour' buttons in the message window. Clicking on this link will give a dropdown dislaying all the available emoticons. Just click on the ones you want to add to your message. How many Emoticons do I get with Rediff Bol? Rediff Bol provides 11 emoticons. :) Smile >: Angry ;) Wink :D Laugh Out Loud/ Belly Laugh :b Cheeky :\ Thinking 8) Cool :( Sad *cake* Cake *hearts* Hearts *kisses* Kisses Why doesn't my friend get the Emoticons I send? If your friend is using an older version of Bol, then s/he might not receive the smileys. In that case, please advise your friend to upgrade to the latest version of Bol having all 11 emoticons.
